Student Spotlight

I wanted to take a minute and share this wonderful message with you. It is on the wall in the cafeteria! We will read it frequently and hope that they begin to truly understand what this means!

Student Spotlight:
We have started Student Spotlight this week. Your child will get the chance to be in the Spotlight for an entire week at some point this school year. Each student will bring home a notice the week before they are in the Spotlight.

Liz is in the Spotlight this week. We really enjoyed her show -n -tell today. Liz would like everyone to wear some shade of green tomorrow.

Guided Reading:

Be on the lookout for this bright yellow paper coming home this week or on Monday. Please be aware that is typical for some kiddos to experience some regression with their reading skills over the summer and it may be reflected in their current reading level verses last Spring. If I have any concerns as they move through the levels, I will notify you.

Students will start bringing home "just right" books in their reading envelope later this month. Once a student is reading at a level H and above, you will not see the envelope come home a frequently. In takes a week to get through a book with a level H or higher during guided reading. Those books tend to have chapters and analyzing the text takes a little longer. They also write about the book in their reading response journal before they are ready to bring it home.

MyOn and Dreambox:
Feel free to have your child access MyOn and Dreambox at home. They will need their QR codes to login to these sites. We use both of these daily. Please look in your child's folder for login directions and your child's QR code.

Ask your child about our read aloud...
