Thank you

Thank you to all the parents for coming to conferences this week. I really enjoyed talking about all the progress the children have made this quarter. I am so proud of them! They are working so hard and love school!
I know some of you are interested in reviewing school concepts at home. Here is a list of the concepts we have been working on this past quarter.

Writer's Workshop:

  • Writing a personal narrative (small moment story) across pages with a beginning, sequence words and an ending.
  • The students also need to remember correct capitals, spaces, ending marks, and spelling sight words correctly.
  • They also use their strategies to spell words: stretch it, go find it, and/ or circle it.

Our next unit is writing informational text. Stay tuned for more information.

Fall Festival Thursday

Fall Festival Update:
Please send your child to school in regular clothes on Thursday. They will change into their costumes around 1:20pm to get ready for the parade and party. Please make sure your child knows how to put on their costume. I can help a little, but I do not go into the restroom to help them. Be sure to keep all masks that cover the entire face and weapons at home. The students will not be allowed to wear those items at school.

Bubble Gum and Tootsie Pop reward

The "Ozark" pod had the most points for the month of September. They voted to have a bubble gum party. We had our party today while working on math. The students' used their place value knowledge to create a picture with tens and ones (sticks and cubes) and also write their picture in expanded form. They did a great job- chewing gum/ enjoying suckers and completing their math activity!
