Happy End of Year First Graders!!

We have been busy this week with the last few things in our curriculum.
Here is a slide show of our learning:

Thank you to Logan's mom for being a Mystery Reader and reading a very touching book titled Ordinary Mary, Extraordinary Deed.  It had such  a wonderful message about kindness - 1 kind thing (even a small gesture) can make such an impact on so many lives. Maybe you all can find it at the library this summer.

Thank you to James' dad for being a Mystery Reader today. They had fun thinking about what it would be like if they had a robot.

Calling all Volunteers!! If you volunteered your help this year for parties, making donations, PTG, DOC, field trips, Mystery Readers...We would love for you to join us at 8am tomorrow morning, so we can show our gratitude to you. We appreciate all of your help this school year! If you are available- please come to the Volunteer Appreciation breakfast at 8am in the library. THANK YOU!!

Tomorrow is FUN DAY. Please see the previous post about FUN DAY!

Yearbooks will go home next week. We will work on a memory book and sign yearbooks next week.

The kiddos are bringing home a few things today, please check their backpacks. FYI- They will start bringing home even more on Monday and Tuesday.

Happy Mother's Day!!
I hope all the moms had a great day and felt "extra special" on Sunday!
The kiddos had a great time posing for their bookmark for mom! I hope you enjoy your Mother's Day gift as a bookmark or hanging on the refrigerator.

THANK YOU for all of the  special"tokens" of appreciation last week. It really meant a lot to me and I appreciate you thinking of me!

We are finishing a few concepts this week- graphing and measurement. Our Mystery Science is all about Lights and Sounds. We will finish those Mysteries by early next week.

On Friday, we had Junior Achievement Activities from volunteers that work for Panera. The students had a lot of fun!

Don't forget to look at the email about our Countdown to 2nd Grade! Please do not share the info with your child ahead of time- it is a surprise!! SHH!

FUN DAY is FRIDAY!! Please make sure that your child is dressed for the weather and wears tennis shoes. Please apply sunscreen before school and if you want your child to re-apply sunscreen, please send it to school with them. Students may wear a hat, sunglasses and bring a water bottle. They will be responsible for these items.

Please be prepared for your child to start bringing things home little by little next week. Some of their "journals" may look incomplete, please do not be worried. Some journals just have a lot of extra paper. You may keep or recycle the materials that are brought home next week. You may want to keep their Leadership Binder and use it again for next year.
