Grace and Chloe and are in the Student Spotlight this week. We loved their show-n-tell!

Thank you to Olivia's mom for being a Mystery Reader. The students really enjoyed the book!

Our Teeny Tiny Concord Town is this Friday from 2-3pm. This is for the entire grade level. You will rotate with your child as they go to the different places in the "town". Our class voted to have a Vet Clinic called Paw Print Vet Clinic.
All first graders are invited to bring a stuffed animal to get a "check up" at our  Paw Print Vet Clinic on Friday.

The kiddos decided that we need some real things for our clinic. These items are meant to help our room feel like a vet clinic. If you can let us borrow any of the items listed below to help make the room more vet like- we would appreciate it. If you want to donate any of the real items, we can make a donation to Gateway Pet Guardians Animal Shelter.  Items to send to school for our clinic on Friday:

  • food and water bowls
  • leash
  • small blankets or towels- to put in the pretend cage ( our cubbies) or real crates at the shelter
  • pet toys
  • pet treats
  • play cash registers (2)
  • play/ pretend doctor toys

You will start to see the 'wrap up' process begin next week. The students will start bringing items home on Monday. They will bring a little bit home each day throughout the week. We will also start our Count Down to Second Grade on May 10th. Be sure to ask your child what the fun activity is for each day. Some days require dressing for a theme day.

Reminders:

  • All library books need to be returned ASAP
  • Read 10 minutes each night even though there is no May reading log
  • This is the last week of Spelling Tests
  • Reading Envelopes will no longer come home
  • Fun Day 5/18- bring water bottle, wear tennis shoes, apply sunscreen before school and dress for the weather.
