Fall Festival

Tomorrow is Fall Festival. Your child will need to wear regular clothes and tennis shoes tomorrow for the pumpkin run. Please make sure your child brings their costume in a bag with their name on it. Please do not send your child to school in their costume. They will change into their costume at 1:15pm. Please make sure your child's costume is appropriate for school- no masks and no weapons.

We had another Mystery Reader today. Brian's mom came to read to the class this morning. We really enjoyed the book she read to the class. The book was donated to our classroom. The company Brian's mom works for is donating the books to our classroom library. We are so lucky to have her come read to us throughout the school year and get more books added to our classroom library.

Thank you very much to all the parents that came to their child's conference last night! I enjoyed meeting with all of you and really enjoyed telling you about your child progress so far!

"BYOD" day was a success!!

The students really enjoyed "BYOD" day. They did a great job sharing their device and talking about the things they can do on it. The next time we have a device day they will have some specific  things they will need to do with their device. They will go on a scavenger hunt with their device and search for some a list things and take pictures and video of to show what they found. The pictures will be connected to several different academic activities. I look forward to the next device day!!

BYOD (Bring your own device day)

We will have a "Bring Your Own Device" day on Friday, October 19th. Your child may bring in their smart device on Friday. If your child does not have a smart device, I can find a device for them to use. Please remember that your child is responsible for the device they bring to school. Your child will be expected to keep their device in their backpack when we are not using it. The classroom door will be locked when we leave the room for safe keeping. The students are looking forward to their first BYOD day!

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me!

The students will be creating a writing "goal". They will have a reminder paper and a graph to use for tracking their goal. They will work on this goal during Daily 5, writing block, science and social studies. I will share their goal with you at conferences!
