Writing Celebration

The first graders had a blast celebrating their hard work creating “Small Moment Writing” 

at the Author’s Cafe’! 

PJ Day for Red Ribbon week - Get "Comfortable" Saying NO to Drugs was a success! 

The kiddos enjoyed our new Math Unit- addition! We started addition on Monday and will work on addition concepts and strategies through the end of November. 

Fall Festival Update:

Next Wednesday is the Fall Festival. Our Pumpkin Run is from 12:30-12:50 at Sperreng. We will start walking to Sperreng at 12:20pm. If you plan to join your child, you can meet us in the lobby at Concord and walk with us, or you may meet us at Sperreng. 

Please remember that I need all permission forms by Wednesday. If your child does not return the form, they will not be able to join us and they will need to wait at Concord until we return! Thank you in advance for your help! 

The parade starts at 1:40pm and the classroom parties with be from 2-3pm. If you take your child home that day after the party, you will need to use "sign out" list in the classroom.

Please be sure to send your child's costume in a bag with their name on it. This is best way to keep items from getting lost. 

They had so much fun reading by the campfire in the library last Tuesday!

Don’t forget that there is no school Friday. 

They had a great time at the Abilities Awareness Festival and Buddy time on Friday. We had many good conversations about Empathy and showing Compassion to others. 

Thank you to Addison’s mom for being a Mystery Reader today! 

The students are almost done with Small Moment Writing!! We will celebrate the end of the unit as a grade level on Thursday. Thank you to the parents for making copies of the pictures for their books. Tomorrow is the very last chance to bring in photos for their vacation/ weekend getaway small moment story. Friday was the due date and it has been extended it through today and now Tuesday. There will not be enough time to get the book finished if they bring their photos in past Tuesday. Thank you for your help with this!

Olivia is in the Spotlight this week. She would like everyone to try to wear pink on Wednesday. 

This is our first Mystery! The kiddos loved experimenting and seeking answers today during our science time. 

Their social studies work on Citizenship will come home today. Please look for it in their folder.
