Valentine’s Day Fun/ Updates

The kiddos had a wonderful Valentine’s Day last week! Take a look at some fun pictures!

Writer's Workshop Update: 

Each child needs to bring in an empty cereal box next week. The students are creating their very own "Boxed Set" book series during writer's workshop. They are writing several realistic fiction books to create a series. They are loving it!

Yay! The kiddos earned 50 class points! They voted to celebrate on February 28th by wearing pj's, bringing a blanket and a stuffed animal. Please make sure that the blanket is a "throw" size blanket and their stuffed animal can fit into their backpack. We are so excited to have a comfy day of learning next Wednesday!

I am so proud of these Busy Bees during PBL time! They are learning so much about winter precipitation, Arctic, Antarctica, climates, animal adaptations and inquiry. We have many projects in the process! Take a look...

Writer's Workshop-

 The students are working hard during Writer's Workshop to create their realistic fiction stories. They are using what they know about fiction writing and bringing their stories to life! Next week they will create a character to be part of a series. They will work on their series writing until Spring Break. 

Math Workshop-

Place value is still the focus for Math Workshop. They are learning to group things by ten, use sticks and cubes to represent a number with base ten blocks and 10 more and 10 less. We will be working on expanded form and double digit addition next week. 

Please continue to encourage your child to go on Dreambox at home. The weekends are a great time for them to try and visit Dreambox.

Please encourage your child to get on Dreambox several times a week. You can use the QR code that was given to you for the Clever App. They can access MyOn and Dreambox through Clever. Or you can download the green Dreambox App. Once your child logs in they choose Boyd's class and get logged in with their picture password.
