Service learning

The students worked on "Messages of Hope"for children at Cardinal Glennon hospital. The children in the hospital will get the notes from our first graders when they get their meals. The note will be on their food tray. We look forward to helping the children feel better after reading our notes and looking at the drawings on the back.

Reminders

We had a great week back from Spring Break! It sounds like everyone enjoyed their break! All of us had a busy week getting back in the routine of things. We started learning about expository writing, which is non- fiction writing. The students will write "How To" books, non fiction books about "Pets", an animal of their choice, and a favorite stuffed animal. Please stay posted for when your child can bring in a favorite stuffed animal for writer's workshop. They love writing non- fiction!

4/8 Wear Cardinal Gear for Home Opener
4/10 Spring Pictures Orders due
4/12 Character Assembly (If your child has received a Grand Slam, they can wear a baseball cap that day.)
4/15 MAP Testing Schedule Begins (we will have block at 8:55am each morning during testing)
4/16 Second Grade Circus 6pm
4/24 Early Release
4/30 Scholastic Book Orders Due (LAST ORDER FOR THE YEAR)
