Last week of school

Wow- time sure went fast this year! We have had such a great school year! I am so proud of each and every one of my students. They have grown so much academically and socially. First grade is such a big year of growth for children. That is why I love teaching First Grade! Thank you so much for your support this school year. You are your child's first teacher and our partnership helps your child have a successful school year. Thank you very much! Finally, thank you so much to the families for my gift card to Target! I do love Target and will be excited to spend the gift card. I really appreciate you thinking of me!

Here are a few reminders for this week:

• No homework packet this week-  have your child read each night.
• If you purchased a yearbook for your child please send the yearbook with them this week. They can have friends sign their yearbook.
• Please look in your child's backpack each night for school supplies. They will bring home a little bit each day.  

Resource Packets

Hello,
The students are really looking forward to Authors' Cafe' today. They are so excited to read their books to you. Your child will take home all of their books and poems today. Your child will also have a couple of summer resource packets. Please look for these packets in your child's folder this weekend. It would be a good idea to put them in a place where you can pull them out and refer to them over the summer break.

Student Spotlight

Here is Carson! She is our last student to be in the Spotlight. We all have really enjoyed learning more about our friends this year while they were in the spotlight.

BYOD

We will have a "Bring Your Own Device" day on Friday, May 11th.  Your child may bring in their smart device on Friday. If your child does not have a smart device, I can find a device for them to use. Please remember that your child is responsible for the device they bring to school. Your child will be expected to keep their device in their backpack when we are not using it. The classroom door will be locked when we leave the room for safe keeping. The students are looking forward to excited to another BYOD day!


Friday, May 11th is Fun Day.
We will participate in Fun Day after lunch. Please make sure your child comes prepared for Fun Day. Students need to wear comfortable clothes, socks, tennis shoes and sunscreen. Make sure your child comes to school with sunscreen already on their body. They can reapply sunscreen if needed, but they need to have it on to start the school day. They may bring a water bottle to take outside with them too.


This is the last week to check out library books. We will not go to the library on Friday. As your child finishes their library books they can bring them back and return them to the library.
