Pajama Day- Putting Drugs to Rest!
Rachel's mom was our first Mystery reader today! Yay- we loved the books she read to us!
Thank you!

Using a writing buddy as a writing "tool" during writer's workshop...
  • notice parts that don't make sense
  • have missing words or information
  • parts that don't belong

Claire's mom was our second Mystery Reader today! We enjoyed the festive books as well. Thank you!

Important notes coming home- Be on the look out for these notes in your child's folder!!

Writing with a teaching voice

We started a new unit in writing- informational writing! The students will use this as a guide to start writing a book that teaches about a topic! They will use a teaching voice to write, not a storyteller voice.

Using a Table of Contents to organize their ideas for informational text.

Personal Narrative - Small Moment writing
They worked so hard on these! I can't wait to share this with you at conferences! The post -it notes are compliments written by classmates! They love to share with their peers and compliment each other.

Speaking of conferences, I sent a note home last week with your scheduled time highlighted on the schedule. Please look for another reminder in your child's folder today! Thank you!
