Hello families,
We are glad to be back, but we are tired. It has been a long day getting back into the swing of things. We had our morning meeting this morning and met Ms. Hoffmann. She is a student observer visiting us today and Wednesday. The discussion this morning at our meeting was about the character word PEACE. Our new character education word will be CARING for the month of December. After morning meeting we came up with our new spelling words and then started readers workshop. We were busy reading good books during reader's workshop and enjoyed listening to STINK after lunch. During our computer time today we used ikeepbookmarks.com to find games and activities. We are headed to music now to conitnue practicing for the winter concert next week. Don't forget the concert is on Dec. 10th at 6:30pm.

What did we do today?

We had a good Friday. We learned how to write a friendly letter. Mrs. Boyd showed us a powerpoint about the five parts of a letter. The five parts are: heading, greeting, body, closing, and signature. Some kids had fun finishing their stories during writer's workshop today. Many students enjoyed listening to Stink. We finished the book today so Mrs. Boyd will start a new chapter book after Thanksgiving Break. The title of the book is Judy and Stink Moody the Holly Joliday. During science we learned about the layers of the earth and had a good time making our own model of the earth.

Have a good Weekend.

Hello from Mrs. Boyd's class.

We have had a busy day today. We took our spelling test this morning and finished writing about a friend during writing block. We enjoyed recess because we were able to go outside and we are looking forward to the library and art this afternoon.
